  • I directed a handbell choir at my church for a number of years, and I wrote many pieces for these groups.  In many cases I could write a piece tailored to the skills of my ringers faster than I could find a published score that worked. The first handbell score I am offering on MusicaNeo is 'A Serious Call', for seven ringers.   • We had a really lovely mini-festival of toy piano works last weekend, and I am grateful to all of the performers who played my pieces: Katelyn Clark, Matt Samolis, Junko Fujiwara, Jacob Mashak and Yuka Hamano Hunt. Jane Wang produced the event at Mobius in Cambridge, MA, and she contributed a lively and amusing piece for Junko and Steve Norton.   • I performed last Thursday at the Aviary Gallery in Jamaica Plain. gallery link here After a nice set of solo bassoon music by Janet Underhill (including Louis Andriessen's 'Lacrymosa', a duet with another bassonist whose name I have forgotten), a quartet (Matt Samolis, flute, Janet on bassoon, Jeffry Young, violin and voice, and me on doublebass) improvised a set of three pieces.   • Two of my toy piano works will be premiered at the Mobius performance space as part of a festival of toy piano music.  'His Onnooor, John Cage" is for four toy pianos, and "Puppet Theater Music III" is a suite of four pieces for flute and toy piano. I also will be performing in John Cage's "Music for Amplified Toy Pianos" on the Sunday concert. Here is a link:  details
